Ease Up George is next up on the premiere front, a producer who's been synonymous with high quality, versatile UK Garage since 2017-18 with releases under his Dubtraxx and Herb Rhythm monikers (Rhythm N Vibe & Plastik People). The turn of the year has brought vinyl contributions on ec2a's dub-plate series, Practical Rhythms split EP (inc El-B remix) whilst long awaited EP’s on Entity:London and new label Cwtch are just around the corner - with the latter shipping this week.
'Roll It' is the A1 on the new imprint from North Wales and in typical Easy-G fashion he goes all out with the punchy 2-step groove. The Missy & Timbo' vocals come through, proving that tried and tested sampling will always be effective in this genre, whilst the wobble from the first drop takes this track to another level and very quickly into reload territory.
As for Cwtch, they’ve quietly gone about their business, forming the label as a project to showcase the re-emerging UKG sound alongside sounds of the past, such as breaks and dub, whilst embracing the cross over of minimal garage.
“I was drawn into pursuing this by labels like Entity London, Phone Traxxx and artists like Glockta & Ease Up George whom I’m a big fan of. I’ve run other labels focusing more on Rominimal & Microhouse but wanted to pursue other genres and hold a platform to push up and coming artists along, including those under aliases and other monikers”
Grab a copy exclusively from Deejay.de but expect it to reach all the usuals over the next week or so.
