Ruffset Records London follow-up their impressive debut release with EMERGENCE EP, a Breaks & 2-Step VA with newly emerging artists from the scene and the label itself.
First up is 'Everything is Getting Dark' by one of the underground's most in demand, Interplanetary Criminal. Oldskool Jungle flavas served up exactly how we'd want them!
The A2. is from emerging duo Heritage, an exciting production outfit who combine crystal clear sound with influences from accross the hardcore spectrum. 'London Fields', pays homeage to a scene from Bullet Boy, dark and emotive throughout. Rugged breaks.
Ruffset welcome Luke Hazell for the B side opener, himself the owner of impressive digital label Subtle Records. 'Mallow' is a 2-Step roller with grooves synonymous with the minimal garage wave that will take us smoothly out of the summer.
Label co-founder UPSTART closes out the 12 with 'The Fear', transitioning out of the B1 with similar energy right up until its break. Pause, bosh, a full 360 flip into screw face orbit has you skanking until the kneedle reaches the middle. This ones our pick!
